When weather cools and summer fades,
and shorter is the light of the day,
leaves fall and breezes play,
and coffee warms the soul.
Smells of pumpkin, hazelnut, cinnamon,
leaves that crunch on the world we're living in,
red, orange, yellow,
colors of scarlet,
purple and plum,
warm chocolate, and violet.
Beverages served hot,
holidays are coming,
you can feel it in the wind,
hear birds softly humming.
When trees turn bare,
exquisite, exposed,
a walk nostalgic,
accented with crows.
Night comes early,
harvest moon paint the sky,
'tis the season for turkey, stuffing, and pie.
Family together,
fireplace near,
there's beauty in autumn,
and autumn is here.
