a colorful brilliant world awaits all who seek it.

my greatest fear is being alone

with only my selfish mind.

Who will watch the world molt into the colors we never knew existed with me?

Count the city lights like constellations?

Breathe in the chaparral brush air and stand in quiet awe of an oak glen?

Watch flowers sparkle into spring, each sunrise growing warmer than the rest?

Who understands how the ocean is an inescapable blue as it leaves salty kisses on our skin.

Who will hug the crying redwood trees as they slowly ask us to stop taking what is life,

what is beautiful, from underneath giant green feathery fingers?

Surely there exists a soul who understands my sentiment,

understands the multifaceted beauty of this life.

Someone whose only fear is that someday humanity will destroy all that is beauty,

from which springs that primal urge:

all that is love.
