Falling From Clouds

There once was a girl who lived on a cloud,
until one day she fell with a thud oh so loud,
'I'll help you back up!' said the critters on the ground,
and so they set off to find a way to help the girl they found.

She cried pearly tears,
she missed her tender cloud.
But they all wanted to help her,
the birds and the cows.
And so the creatures decided that they would make a ladder,
they climbed on each other,
swaying and growing,
higher,
and higher.

And so the child of the sky began to climb,
on top of the roosters,
the squirrels,
as the sun shined and shined.
But the ladder would not hold and the critters gave way,
they fell back to earth in a tumbling dismay.

But the girl from the sky saw how hard they had tried,
and decided that she could not say goodbye,
and so she gathered them all until strength found her then,
she raised herself up high,
to the heavens,
with her friends.

And so all of the beasts and the fish and the cranes,
lived up in the sky with the stars and the rain,
and happily they danced on an ethereal plane,
until they'd play a bit too much,
and fall back to the ground once again.
