in the smoke and fire,
standing tall in the fray,
the general's daughter.
She was far from a soldier,
but here on this day,
she'd show them all who's boss,
she was ready to play.
And so she put on her favorite song,
as the bells went off to sound the alarm.
And from the wreckage she'd raise her cannon
to fire away at those
who charged with reckless abandon.
Yet somehow still she found her smile,
despite the shame
of all the fallen.
For there was so very many she had managed to save,
on this the general's daughter's day.
